This project was completed for a short design studio in Hamburg dealing with the possibility of a new typology of one-room hotel buildings along the waterfront. This mini-hotel is constructed from a modular ‘kit of parts’ and is thus flexible and re-deployable. In this form, the hotel is integrated into the landscape of the Spreehafen. The floor and roof panels are based upon a 3-4-5 triangle system, which allows the building to take on other forms, as well as allowing for quick and easy construction. The form deployed at the Spreehafen brings hotel guests in contact with the elements of the place : the hill, the water, the trees, the port, and the sun.
